    Questions.

Which is the best AI notetaker?+

That depends on your language, your meetings and where your data is allowed to go. For conversations that should not be stored anywhere, Notuly is the best choice: in-person, hybrid and online, processing in Amsterdam, audio deleted after processing. If you meet in English and want a searchable archive, Otter and Fireflies are good options. Copilot only takes notes inside Teams.

Which AI notetaker works for in-person meetings?+

Notuly. Around the table you start the recording and the report lands in your inbox; hybrid and online are covered too. Otter, Fireflies and Fathom can record an in-person conversation through their mobile app or an audio upload, but they are built around online meetings. Copilot stays inside the Teams route; capturing an in-person meeting takes the Facilitator agent in the Teams mobile app, with a Copilot licence.

Does Notuly work for online meetings too?+

Yes. The desktop app for macOS and Windows takes the notes straight from your laptop, in Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. No bot joins your meeting and nobody extra appears in the participant list.

    Are AI notetakers GDPR compliant?+

Not all of them, and a data processing agreement is not the same as data that stays in the EU: an American company falls under American law. Otter, Fireflies and Fathom process on US servers by default. Notuly processes on its own servers in Amsterdam, deletes the audio within a minute of processing and never trains on your data; a data processing agreement is available on Team and above.

How is an AI notetaker different from Copilot?+

Microsoft Copilot only works inside Teams and needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. An AI notetaker like Notuly works independently of that, in-person conversations included, and runs on its own AI rather than Microsoft technology. See also the full Notuly vs Copilot comparison.

What does an AI notetaker cost?+

Most AI notetakers have a free plan and a paid subscription. Notuly Starter is free (three conversations per month, no payment details needed); the current Notuly prices are in the comparison table above. Fireflies Pro costs $10 per month (billed yearly), Fathom Premium $16 per month (billed yearly), and Copilot comes as part of a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, from $21 per user per month. Otter charges in dollars; the current prices are on its own pricing page.

What is the best free AI notetaker?+

Fathom has a free plan with no limit on the number of meetings; you're not paying with money, so check what happens to your data. Notuly Starter is free with three conversations per month, no payment details needed. What each tool gives you for free, and where the limits sit, is in the guide to free AI notetaking.

Do AI notetakers keep my audio?+

Most of them do. Otter, Fireflies and Fathom keep the recording in an archive; with Copilot the recording stays in your Microsoft environment. With Notuly the audio is permanently deleted within a minute of processing. There is no archive and no searchable database.

Can I use an AI notetaker in Dutch?+

Notuly is fully available in Dutch, understands more than 90 spoken languages and writes the report in Dutch or English. Otter doesn't support Dutch: it transcribes in six languages, including English and German. Fireflies and Fathom support Dutch in the transcript, but the interface is English.

What is the best EU-based AI notetaker?+

For data that stays in the EU, Notuly, Notizy and TalkMark are the Dutch-built options. Notuly takes notes in-person, hybrid and online, with servers in Amsterdam and no archive, and is used in education and government too. Notizy is ISO-certified and can optionally run on-premise, with a configurable retention period. TalkMark offers a searchable memory across meetings, with servers in Frankfurt.

The best AI notetakers in Europe, in short: for conversations that should not be stored anywhere, Notuly is the best choice. It takes notes in-person, hybrid and online, with your phone on the table or the desktop app for macOS and Windows, processes on Dutch servers in Amsterdam, deletes the audio within a minute of processing and never trains on your data. Otter and Fireflies suit English-speaking teams that want a searchable archive; Fathom has a free plan with no meeting limit; Copilot only takes notes inside Teams and needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. Notuly Starter is free with three conversations per month, no payment details needed. Other Dutch-built options alongside Notuly: Notizy and TalkMark.
